Fox 26 News news anchor Jose Grinan was honored by Houston Association of Black Journalist at a private event on November 3, 2019. The event had a masquerade ball theme : "Eyes Wide Open, Mouths Never Shut" located at the Groovey Grill Mansion in Historic Third Ward. The room was filled with professionals of the news world as well as with aspiring Texas Southern University students.


Grinan, was honored for His achievement in excellence and his commitment to Houston media. His career started in El Paso as a reporter for KTSM AM-FM in 1975. He has been apart the FOX 26 family since 1993. Everyone at the event who spoke on his behalf spoke

very highly of him and were honored to celebrate his success.

He is now the senior morning news anchor. Not only is he a leader in the news room he is also active in the Houston community. He is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists as well as the National Association of Hispanic Journalist. Major accomplishments have been achieved and he is a great example of a well rounded journalist.


The room was graced by his friendly cheerful presence. There were celebrity guest such as Yo-Yo as well as other media pioneers. It was definitely a packed event for a well deserving man. Plenty of pictures were taken with him with whomever asked. Everyone danced and chatted with each other with smiles on their faces. The night ended with the electric slide, laughter, and more hugs.
